“I love how feminine you are
he says
and I see my softness mirrored in his eyes
eyes that drink me in
the morning’s first cup of tea
like tea, my skin is steaming
the steam that warms his lips
appreciating who I am as I soften
a rare sight to see,
even rarer to hold
the moment my armor of iron thuds to the ground
the weights – the ruck – the suffering
and the earth shudders in relief
rare, but
I am trying to step tenderly in to
the meadow of flowing fabrics with naked feet
where delicate flowers of feminine bloom
fragrant on the rhythm of a breeze that sways my hips
held gently by the hands of the wind”
